Gresham Village Primary & Nursery (19)

Sports Premium report

The Sports Premium is to ensure:

  • Improve the provision and quality of PE & School Sport at our school
  • Broaden the sporting opportunities and experiences available to pupils
  • To develop a love of sport and physical activity

All children from years 1 to 6 are taught a wide range of sports throughout the year, such as rugby, football, basketball, cricket, rounders, athletics, dance, gymnastics, cross-country. In a typical week, all children in years 1 to 6 receive 2 hours of sports. Children in reception have one dedicated sports lessons a week with our PE instructor.

Many sports are taught by specialist instructors and teachers and the children participate well and acquire good skills. In inter-schools competitions, Gresham Village competes extremely well with much bigger schools. Last year, we won the Partnership Athletics and Key Stage 1 Cross-country competitions. For all events, we are highly inclusive with every child in key stages 1 and 2 given the opportunity to compete and take part in multiple events across the year.

Our Schools

Synergy Multi-Academy Trust comprises fifteen Norfolk schools serving children between the ages of 2 and 18. Our schools work collaboratively together to raise standards and provide education of the highest possible standard, offering the best of opportunities for pupils. The Trust was initially established in 2015. We believe that all of our schools have strengths and areas to develop, and that all can improve through sharing expertise and wisdom. The Trust understands that there will be excellent practice in each school, and that every school will be able to contribute to the development of the Trust as a whole.
